Efficient Multi-Port Bidirectional Converter With Soft-Switching Capability for Electric Vehicle Applications

In this paper, to solve the hard-switching operation problem and lack of existing a bidirectional power flow path from output energy storage device conventional three-port converter, new soft-switched multi-port converter is proposed. A large number switches, different paths which vary in each operating mode, changing outputs their levels are some challenges provide soft-switching conditions converters. proposed by topology exchangeability between ports provided. Moreover, cell added, can operate independently levels. Less components with low volume one important features converter. Due size passive heat-sink reduced. addition, use coupled inductors cell, only magnetic core used thus, single-stage conversion achieved conduction loss modes presented, design considerations discussed. Finally, 200 W-200 V prototype implemented, theoretical analysis validated experimental results.
